“That's tough. The toughest part was the shadows. We all came back saying we couldn't see the ball. It was tough picking it up. When you go from a slow knuckleball to a guy throwing 95 and you add in the shadow, it's tough.”

“When I hit it, I hit it well. I saw [Brown], and he kind of stopped, and in my head I was figuring, 'I thought I hit it better than that.' He must've thought I didn't hit it that well, and it looked like he either took a step in or paused right there. It was fortunate for me that it got over his head.”
“I'm very proud of myself because I could have just fell flat on myself and let it go. (I could have) said: 'You know what, crappy season and we'll get 'em next year,' but I didn't. I kept my head up, even though there are times I am reminded of what happened. I've been able to use that as motivation.”
